Teaching Philosophy

Since everyone is different, I aim to satisfy the goals of each student, allowing for each individuals uniqueness. As a young professional in 1975, I had the privilege of receiving 2 days of instruction from Harvey Penick who impressed upon me the importance of simplicity in teaching the game. As a result teaching to me is being a facilitator for the student to learn skills in the easiest and most natural manner possible, allowing the student to maximize their enjoyment of the game of golf. These skills need to be learned in the proper learning environment, one chunk at a time and in the learning style of the student.

As a student of Canadian golf great George Knudson in 1982 balance in the golf swing was always key which fits in nicely with the Henry-Griffitts philosophy. As a result of this, and due to having the most comprehensive fitting system in golf, the 100 day fitting warranty, the high quality of manufacturing of the clubs, and the unparalleled ongoing support they provide to Certified Teachers, I became a Certified Teacher in 1996.

Once a student can swing a club in balance and have clubs that are fit to them, they will be able to consistently strike the ball in the center of the clubface and have the ball fly the desired flight to the target. An evaluation system is provided to the student so that they can truly learn and understand.

Besides the mechanics of the swing and clubfitting, I believe it is vital to assist the golfer to truly play this great game which will further enhance their ability to enjoy the experience.
