Tony Brooks is 1 of 350 PGA Master Professionals in the country. A feat he shares with 1% of the PGA professional population. He has instructed students of all ages and abilities, but within his 5 development academies (Lion Golf Academy) in Southern California, his program focuses on family development. He has been teaching golf since 1996, and has helped thousands of golfers start this game. He is a recipient of the 2018 top 50, and 2021 top 100 growth of the game professionals in the United States, and he has also been awarded the PGA presidents award for growth of the game in 2006 and 2009. Prior to his teachings and academies formation, he started his career at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, home to the PGA Tour, and prior national championships. He was also employed by the PGA Tour and the PGA of America in their attempt to develop players development academies.
Tony’s main focus is providing his students with the knowledge of their motions, and the importance of equipment that should work as a balance point within their motions. If a student is compensating for the equipment, the potential for the student becomes limited. Proper care of the students body, increasing its range of motion through self care and correct practice AND having equipment that works in synergy, is the goal of any student that wishes to enjoy this game.
Tony grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and currently lives in La Quinta, however he still teaches at his San Diego, and Los Angeles sites as well.
